Engineer Home Inspection

We used Richard Perri for our professional home inspection and I would highly recommend him for first-time home buyers. Rick met with us at the front of the house and talked about the structure, the frame, the sidewalk, street and steps.

He proceeded to discuss a laundry list of details we would cover as we walked throughout the house. He explained every single item in laymens terms and gave really good analogies to understand how a house functions with all of its working parts.

Rick was professional, friendly, efficient and pleasant. We started in the basement and worked our way up through each part of the house, until we ended up on the roof. He took notes throughout the entire time and gave us a copy of those notes at the end of the inspection. In a few days, he e-mailed us a draft of his report and we have an official, stamped and sealed copy being mailed at home.

His father started providing home inspections in Brooklyn 45 years ago. Son, Rick, has been doing them for 17 years now. You can find more info on him here http://www.richperri.com/Site/Welcome.html

The inspection was great and really outlined exactly what is right with the property, what needs some minor tweaking and what needs to be upgraded ASAP. We used this report to go back to the seller to re-negotiate some items. After a few days of deliberation, back and forth e-mails and counter offers to the nth degree – we finally agreed upon a fair price for the home.

Our next step – we go into contract!

About Maya

I like words like "labyrinthian," "kerfuffle," and "serendipitous" because they're mellifluous. I love poetry, pumpkin ales, sangria, long summer days, Fall foliage, going out of my way to step on crunchy leaves in October, live music, Jazz, Salsa dancing, theater, film (foreign and indie), the arts (myriad varieties), dance (in theory and practice) and any place where I can sit outdoors and take it all in.
