Nostalgia settling in

At this stage in the game, we wait.

We’ve received a disclosure agreement that needed to be signed by all parties (buyer, seller, listing agent) which essentially makes our transaction official. Our lawyer is in contact with the seller’s lawyer and they are ironing out any kinks. Our mortgage guy is busy preparing everything we need for the bank, post-approval. The realtor is in contact with the seller to make sure our closing date will work for her. Meanwhile, Beau and I patiently wait for all the chips to fall into place.

I spoke with our landlord about leaving. I’ve been letting him down slowly. We have such a great relationship and they are truly such nice people! Beau and I are going to miss them.

I am going to especially miss this apartment. It was my very first place! I’ve gotten used to the noises this house makes. I know my local grocers and dry cleaner. I’ve developed a rapport with our neighbor and his kids. Even my office is within walking distance of this place. And our beautiful yard where we planted tomatoes, held summer barbeques and hosted family and friends will always harbor the happy memories of the first apartment we called home.

Our backyard! And the tomatoes we grew!

About Maya

I like words like "labyrinthian," "kerfuffle," and "serendipitous" because they're mellifluous. I love poetry, pumpkin ales, sangria, long summer days, Fall foliage, going out of my way to step on crunchy leaves in October, live music, Jazz, Salsa dancing, theater, film (foreign and indie), the arts (myriad varieties), dance (in theory and practice) and any place where I can sit outdoors and take it all in.
